After going to the majority of Zürich Club rooms listed on the holy grail of party hubs uusgang I realized that mostly it was a waste of time and money. But, there are places where you can cut out the cost of the equation. The two major clubs for free riding in Turicum (yes, Zürich) are *drumroll*:
Thursdays at Zukunft. If only the future will actually be like this - oh then, there is no thing to worry about. Was there during the event Dosci with DJs Triple P & Styro. No entrance fee and a fun mix of curious Swissurs. Excellent music and remixes all night. Could have been more ladies though...
Saturdays at Bagatelle93. A bit trisky, at times completely deserted on the top floor where the DJs rule. Other times it is like a tiny little Hive, which is likely the best House club in the Alps. You'll find Bagatelle93 on Langstrasse, ten meters away from Zukunft in fact, and entrance is always free. Sometimes, it is also a gay bar - but there will still be ladies (see picture) there and good thing is there is less competition. Also, the gays know great House music.
Still have not worked out free places for Fridays. Any ideas?

Epic Elektronikum: Crystal Castles
The Toronto duo of 'nadians have been crating music-like noises commonly referred to as "eletronic" or "alternative" since 2004. The self-titled album Crystal Castles was released back in 2008, but has only now been discovered by me and concomittantly has the modern pop-scene only recently regressed into the cocoon that Ethan and Alice earstwhile had spun. Let's just call it retro/po-mo. If you can appreciate modern music in it's most unappreciated form, be sure to hear: Crimewave, Untrust Us, Reckless and Vanished. Makes sense that the only form of modern Electronikum that does not sound like MGMT is that made many years ago, although a few parallels to Ratatat's best pop up now and then. Likely, this is by chance. Sounds like I know what I am talking about right?

Janssons frestelse or Jansson's Temptation - LCHF style
Here it is, the dish that makes... something resemble prefab.
And I bet we lost again, did we not?

Scissor sistah's magic hour
New York gay scene poppers Scissor sisters ( from tribadism) are finally back with a new album featuring many collaborations with successful DJs and artists too lazy to make their own albums. Bouncy tracks soon to be played at a gay bar close to you include Only the Horses (produced with competent DJ Calvin Harris), Somewhere, Let's have a Kiki with DJ Nita (no Youtube vids out yet...) and finally Keep you shoes on. Broaden your horizons, but do not expect too much out of this album

Joyfull Noisy Beth Ditto
OK, let's say - it takes a listen-through or two, but once you've let the tracks set in, A Joyful Noise is a - and I do not think I over use the term - kick-ass album. I mean, just check out; Into the Wild, I Won't Play, Perfect World and Melody Emergency. Deep bass, shrill vocals of Miss Ditto, and if that's not enough, new age rock à la Move in the Right Direction (Classixx Remix). If this is not good enough for you, then please, hide under a rock somewhere. I'm telling you.

Miike Snow is Happy to you
Swedish indie poppers Miike Snow, with singer Andrew Wyatt, is out with their new album "Happy To You", and it is a smasher right in yo face mafakkah. Tracks to devour include God Help This Divorce, Bavarian #1 and Paddling Out. Amazing stuff, right up there with Elvis and the other ones. Or at least close, if you can appreciate a different style (hipsters). I can image it tight now. Guys in colorful slim pants, thick glasses and wavy hair in utter bliss, listening to these tunes. Beautiful.
The Naked and Famous New Zealanders
OK, sure, this album came out like two years ago - but it deserves a mention considering the quality of it. The Naked and The Famous may actually be the only thing naked and famous ever to come out of New Zealand. And boy, does it deliver. Be sure to check out Young Blood and Now way. Amazing stuff, the album Passive Me, Agressive You, is. Be sure not to miss out!
