Lil' wheezy fo$hiz-easy Wayne and million other AKA's

The cryptic album "Million More AKA's" by New Orleander Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. is a giant collaboration between the (self proclaimed) best rapper alive and a zillion other thugs that, when not incarcerated, are dwelling in hoods of different kinds. Recognize. To my great surprise and appreciation Beavis and Butthead appear on the song Mines and brings Wheezy down a peg. Wunderbar, otherwise Faded with Tyga would be one of the strongest tracks in an altogether only OK album, far from the masterpiece of Da Drought 3 from 2007. Still, if you like hip hop and head-ache inducing bass, like myself, then give it a go.

AWOLNATION getting their megalithic symphony on

AWOLNATION, like the name suggests, involves a lot of screaming by the lead singer Aaron Bruno in their album from March last year entitled "Megalithic Symphony". Supposedly an electronic rock band, they deliver a mix of MGMT, The Killers and a lot of screaming for songs by the likes of the late Wolfmother (pride of Australia). Be sure not to miss Not Your Fault - the track that will make you look up the band and legally download the album from PirateBay (only in Switzerland). If this band can keep from disintegrating withing their fist years, we might have something here.

Nóz w wodzie, 1962

"Knife in the water" is Roman Polański's first, so called, feature film - i.e. people actually went to the cinema and paid to see it. It was made in 1962 and Polański co-wrote it with Jerzy Skolimowski and Jakub Goldberg in Polish. Needless to say, much has changed since then, especially what people will call a good movie for the sake of it. Do yourself a favor and only go and see it if you enjoy long scenes, can appreciate borderline humor, are fascinated by Polish behavior and don't mind a black-and-white movie with only 3 actors in it. Otherwise, you might just not like it all that much.

The story? Polish couple meets Polish stranger and chillaxes with him on a private sail boat wherefrom they get to know each other better and reality seeps in. Naturalism as far from Hollywood as you can get - which is a definite plus.

Bassnectar (not milt) and diverging spectra

Bassnectar (formerly known as "Lorin Ashton") and his album "Divergent Spectrum" is only, and I repeat, only for those who are in understanding - or pretend to be so to fit in - of the concept of dubstep. Here, electric dubstep. The strongest track is beyond doubt The Matrix which represents a rarity. A rarity, because it is a dubstep genre song that does not sound like all other dubstep genre songs. And a gold star you get, Lorin, for including a Gogol Bordello remix - Immigraniada.

I tried the album out both jogging and in the gym and I think it goes better in the gym - if you chose to skip the mushy stuff on it. You know, those "dubstep-ballads" with female vocals trying to convey some true emotion before the drop. Not that I do not like them, but there is a time and place for everything. Chef guy - out!

Face the book. Facebook.

Finally, Master Chef LCHF William has taken the leap into the future socialization scene where I make "friends" and "acquaintances" that I never speak to or dare even to share a comment with in the process of expanding LCHF domination on this planet, Tellus. I now feel the power. Why did I ever doubt you Zuckerberg? Maybe it is because I was scared. Maybe I was not ready. Or maybe because you called your users "dumb fucks" - I do not know... Alas, I have too long spent time alone. I am ready now. Beam me up, Zuckie.

NIDAN - incognito oracle

Whoever runs NativeInterface has joined the anti-massmedia/coorporation movement of exposing the frauds and debaucheries that have lined and will line the days of our lives. I guess we can soon hope for a vid on the sugar that we stuff our faces with?

Take an hour or two off and watch some of the videos. Since basically all conspiracy theories, ranging from Orwellian to Alex Jonesian, have appeared to be true (those that haven't will soon, they assure us) - this, and its likes, might actually be the independent news media that replaces the massmedia as contemporary mainstream media. Either way, it bodes for some serious truth tellin'. Or is this just an attempt of clever mind games that confused bloggers fall for? Get with the program and trust no one.

Warrior (cool title, isn't it)

Already from the heading you might suspect my sentiments on this one. Another movie about people hurting each other inside a rink. Some good scenes with Nick Nolte (yeah, I know, I thought he was just an urban legend myself) but all in all, the work of Gavin O'Connor rushes through the story line and culminates in a mushy ending that you can probably predict already after 10 minutes of watching the movie. It is not a bad movie, but flawed much like Clint Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby" and not nearly as captivating as Darren Aronofsky's "The Wrestler" or David O. Russell's "The Fighter". But I guess if you like fight scenes and you are not too interested in a decent storyline... Go for it!

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

One of the funniest books you will ever read, together up there with Luke Rhinehart's "The Dice Man", Vladimir Nabokov delivers humoristic reference upon reference without ever compromising on advancing the story and yet always, as the kids say, keeping it real. Not only a perverted love story between Humbert and a under-aged "nymphet" but also a complete recollection taken from the heart of a man that gazed too long into an abyss. Reading this fine piece of work will put you clavicle-deep into the struggle between sanity and gay old times secretly asking yourself "So, was it based on a true story or..." even though you know the answer yourself. The hallmark of classic novels are that they are modern even decades after their creation. This one could have been written last week.

PUMA - get with it

Get your pume-on at the Puma Store, aka Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik created by Adolf and Rudolf Dassler in 1924. Crazy contemporary design with some of the most modern features seen every season. The stores are small which allow the odd and risky segments as well. I have now found my sportive complement to ZARA. And it is PUMA.

Inkonst in Malmö

InkonstIf you ever find yourself in the south of Sweden (Malmoe) looking for a place in which to get your groove vertically challenged, well then you are generally in trouble. Unless you enjoy kids on hormones, occasional restroom brawls and sausage - not fests - but festivals. Inkonst is no exception - although, to its defense, it does provide three separate dance floors - one of which is so secluded and hard to find that there is no one in there. Ever. Seriously, you could dump plutonium in there and get away with it. I think Usama was hiding there for a fortnight or so way back when. True story.

Metronomy at the English Riviera

Finally, the Brits are producing music again. Long awaited. And all the songs sound so good! Although they are sung in an American accent, the style is the modern one, influenced by Arcade Fire, MGMT, Band of Horses and so on and so forth.

Listening to this album you will see that all tracks flow into each other, from e.g. "Everything Goes My Way" to "The Look", but without sounding monotonous. Heavy on the imagination, these chaps are. Oh yes. Do not underestimate the Brits when it comes to the plinging and the plonging. I did. I had no idea. Get the Metronomy. Get the English Riviera.
