REM and their present collapse
After listening to the latest album Collapse into now by the good old Rapid Eye Movements I realized that I might as well postponed my collapsing into rather later than sooner. An album of quintessential mediocrity, but if you like that, then go ahead and get it!

Bring in the noise, bring in Amanda Blank
She is either a white Missy Elliot or a black Katy Perry - from either perspective, Amanda Blank has got something going. Don't miss "Something bigger, something better":

If you haven't heard of her - then hear of her. And do it now. This chick is from Philly, so she has to be good. In addition, she like colorful clothes. That's always a plus. Just look at MIA. Sitting on the edge of my seat for the next album.

Heed the head, the radiohead
You know it, girlfriend! It is the latest Radiohead album "The King of Limbs". Big shoes to fill, indeed.
I hate to put a frown on the heads of all Radiohead fans but was there anything to hang in the Christmas tree here? Not so much. I mean sure, you get to see Thom Yorke thrust in the vid for "Lotus Flower"... and "Codex" has a really cool intro. But nah, the thumb of my limb is not too positive.

Ratatat LP4 and also 3
"Yeees..." it's a New York based experimental band but who cares, hipster is not mainstream just yet. If you have not heard of Ratatat, you must make space in your agenda because this is a worthy infusion. I can promise a lot of birds and stuff, you won't regret it. An extra plus for the deep base they deliver. Check out the songs "Falcon Jab", "Mirando" and why not "Drugs":

Roxette is back and school is no longer cool...
You cannot teach charm and evidently it is also hard to put into music format. What these blond suedoises desperately need is a thesaurus-infusion into their lyrics, because right now, it sounds like something I could have written. And that is really a bad sign.
For some reason I got the "Deluxe version", meaning I get to hear live recordings of old hits. What joy. I should mention two good'er tracks though, they would be "She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio)" and "Only when I dream" which are 100% Swedish sound. Other than that, I would hope for a Borat version called "Chram School" or that this album self-destructs after it is finished, taking with it the failing carcass of my Nokia XpressMusic so that I have an excuse to buy a new mobe'.

Electro, base - Pendulum. What more ya want???
Pendulums album immersion will take you from Imogen Heap to Prodigy to Deadmau5 to Slipknot and back again in one single 1 h and 7 minute album. And it is sitll ringing in my ears. Definite buy-warning.
Check out Immunize and The Island and you will see that you won't be sorry. And, do turn up the base.

Up and Gaslight Anthem!
And then down again. The album American slang has not only a vibe or inclination, but pretty much the whole 9 yards when it comes to "sounding like the Killers". They even have a song called "We did it when we were young", yes; when we were young. I mean, come on! No way, this is a thumbs downward.
Love letters from R Kelly
.. and by that I mean of course his new album so don't worry about me. It is basically a lot of love songs, sang in the very persuasive R Kell-ish way. Not really what I had in mind when I went jogging and plugged good old Robert Sylvester Kelly into my ears. I was thinking at least one ignition-esque song, but I got nothing. Nothing, I tells ya!

To the stalls! Stall 6, to be more specific
Apart from the odd scenery, Sexxomodular was the true high point, this guy is not sane, or possibly on some sort of psycho-active substance, but the music is actually OK and has enormously deep beats. Second time I see him. Go for a third? Meh...

Garaged in Ohio: Black keys Brothers
This band sounds like Mick Jagger reincarnated (is he still alive?) in a garage where Jack White lives with his parents and sister/girlfriend Meg. For almost one hour they create beautiful music (literally) and record it on an album with a very imaginative cover. In reality they are two guys from Akron and the singer of course has a beard therefore. The bearded dudes shall inherit the earth. Thumbs up!

Like, what is this stuff???
There is no such thing as Swiss meat without the Appenzellers getting involved. Now, I gave my chewing muscles a true pilates work-out when attacking this Berg-Mostbröckli. I still have no idea what it was. I however know that it was overpriced and could be replaced by seasoned rubber cords.

Yes, that's right, the 'Zellers again. After being very disappointed of yet another lactic-acid-in-the-jaw-muscles episode, I read that "peal not edible". With that being fixed, the Pantli was great! Truly, like taking a bite straight out of a living acorn grazing pig on the Swiss highlands. Try it!

Kerns slogan "Mehr als nur Fleisch" left me wondering what actually was in these things? Probably, I will get these again, it seems that the square sausages are becoming fashionable and also, they had a special crunch going.
When buying a "specialty" peace of meat in Zürich, you can count on that the price will be hiked up about 700 feet/h. You can also count on that about 50% of all crazy meats are very, very chewy. And no, it did not get less chewy when I fried it. Some parts of this should be labelled "not edible". I have suppressed the fact that Dachsener Rauchfleish may mean smoked dog.
Don't ask me what this is. I bought it only because it was insanely expensive - so expensive, that it comes with its own cutting board. If you buy this one, then cut it thinly. Very thinly. Not because it is expensive, I think you know why.Take a guess; was it chewy?
To answer the question, I think I may still have a piece lodged between my incisors. I will give a small plus for the peppery taste.
Ah yes, the salami showdown. Italy's Rapellino Classico versus the Hungarians Pick (slightly unfortunate name in the ears of Scandinavians). Hands down: Pick takes it home! The Hungarians will make you hungry for this smoky salami. It is absolutely not chewy. In fact, it almost falls apart in you mouth, like salami powder. Rapellino is not far behind, but lacks its own chutzpah, although it does have a nice and soft forrest-ish taste. Both go very well for that evening no carb snack.
